I will always remember Arlene going with Joy to Hawaii when Joy had terminal cancer and her ending up in the hospital there. Our parents and hers went back to Hawaii after her death and her folks visited the hospital where the people were so kind, to thank them for taking care of their daughter. What bittersweet times we had. You go, Arlene!! Arlene is still a good friend of Joy's sister, Tammy. Would like to go back in time to when we stayed overnite above Geil's Funeral Home where she lived and escaping downstairs to the funeral parlors. (No clients there at that time)

I've attached a picture of Joy and I on the Bahama trip.  Another thing I remember, Joy always called me by the nickname of “Krack” which was my last name (Kraak) mis-pronounced.   I always got a kick out of that.

I remember going on vacation with Joy in the Bahamas (Nassau/Paradise Island), summer of 1973.  We rented a scooter and learned how to operate it on the spot.  Even though I was a little "shaky" driving the scooter a couple of times up and down the street, she hopped on the back of the scooter with me.  Unfortunately I drove the scooter through a residential lawn, went through someone's bush and then crashed into a wall.   We both fell off.  I said, "Do you want to try this again?" and she said laughingly "Sure."  She was such a good sport about things and really enjoyed life---NEVER complained.   Joy was the nicest person you would ever want to meet and knew how to have fun.  She passed away the following May from Hodgkin's lymphoma.    I miss her even to this day.
